About Vreny
Vreny Van Elslande was born 14th June 1971, in the medieval Flemish town of Ypres in Belgium. His life changed in an instant at 16 when someone at his high school who started playing guitar, offered Vreny to try it out. From the very moment Vreny picked up that guitar and hit his first chord, he instantly knew that he was destined to become a professional guitarist.
After 2 years of self-study and a year-long stint in the military in Germany, Vreny attended music school to study classical guitar. He finished the 10-year program in 7, with honors, then moved to Boston to study Performance and Music Production & Engineering (MP&E) at Berklee College of Music, where he finished the 5-year dual major Summa Cum Laude for both degrees in a little under 4 years.
Countless bands, shows, TV appearances, and guitar students later, Vreny built a reputation which led CBS News to name Vreny one of the 5 best guitar teachers in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, to keep his audio engineering chops sharp, Vreny also got into mixing TV shows. A show that Vreny had done dialog and sound editing on as part of a post-production team was Emmy Nominated in 2017 for Outstanding Sound Supervision and Outstanding Sound Editing: Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath.
While teaching guitar and mixing TV shows, Vreny kept active playing shows and sessions. His band Automatic Eden released Madland which hit #12 on Billboard’s Hot Singles chart in September 2016. He plays bass and guitar on the album and toured the Midwest in support of the album

When he’s not working, Vreny hangs out with his family and friends. He LOVES vanilla and ube ice cream, Suhr guitars, his Christys’ London bowler hat, The Beatles, Queen & ABBA, classic rock, long walks and hikes, teaching, writing books, practicing guitar, reading, writing songs, playing with his son, and rocking out. He lives in Santa Clarita in California with his wife Tiannah and son Aiden.
